Your experiment

Your browser stores the experiment parameters so they survive a reload. Reset replaces them with the defaults; clearing this site’s browser data removes them. Exported files stay on your device. The app does not upload your experiment to an application database.

Optional Google Maps

Opening the location picker loads Google Maps when it is configured. Google receives requests including your IP address, browser information, searches and the map area viewed. Clicking or dragging a pin sends that point to Google to find its name or address. Solar Field does not request your device’s GPS location. Coordinate entry works without Google Maps.

Selected coordinates and a place ID can be stored locally. Google-provided place names remain in the current session. Cached Google-selected coordinates expire after 30 days and are replaced by the default location when the experiment is next loaded. Manually entered coordinates have no expiry.

Google’s handling of Maps requests is described in the Google Privacy Policy, which applies to that service.

Hosting

The website host may process standard request data such as IP addresses and access logs to deliver and protect the site. This app does not add tracking cookies.
