Solar Field is a free learning tool by Brook for exploring sunlight, shade and seasons. You may use and share the public site for that purpose.

The learning model

Calculations use a documented reference year and simplified assumptions. Weather, terrain and detailed building obstruction are outside the model. Rendered scenery and light are illustrative. Read How this works for the calculation method and sources.

Use the results for exploration. Engineering, construction and energy-yield decisions need site-specific calculations and independent verification. The site is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted service or real-world prediction accuracy.

Google Maps

If you use the optional map picker, the Google Maps / Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google Terms of Service also apply. Do not scrape map or place data, remove attribution, or misuse the service.

Credits

Earth imagery comes from NASA Earth Observatory’s Blue Marble: Next Generation. Three.js is distributed under its included MIT license. These services and sources do not endorse this application.
